Infused Oniol Oil For Luscious Hair – Earth Raga Changes The Haircare Game

Everyone needs luscious hair that flows freely in the wind. The teenage me was blessed with thick and long hair without even doing anything to care for it. It shamelessly grew like a desperate lover putting up with the ill-treatment of the toxic partner. Yes, I was thankless. I never took care of my hair and alas! My hair gave up on me. After my three pregnancies, whatever relation I had with my hair broke. That’s when I knew about a new herbal formula that was introduced into the world of hair care -Onion oil. Onion Oil benefits are so much so that we will be surprised to see the lost strands grow back. How is infused onion oil so helpful for your hair follicles?

    Infused Onion Oil

    Infused Onion Oil Benefits

Onion oil has been in use as a remedy for headaches, respiratory illness, blading, etc. The onset of technology and the human tendency to cultivate a predisposition towards anything instantly changed everything. The relevance of onion oil just shrunk to oblivion. Of late, the benefits of onion oils have started to surprise everyone, and products with infused onion oil have been on the rise. Here are the main benefits

    Improved hair growth

Onion oil is rich in antioxidants. They in turn reduce wear and tear in our body, hair being a part. This implies that onion oil helps the hair follicles grow back.

    Dandruff control

Sulphur present in onion oils helps in hair growth and development. It enhances the blood flow to your hair follicles. This makes the hair thick and strong. It helps in curing bacterial infection and dandruff.

    Prevents early greying

The nutrients in Onion prevent the cells from oxidizing and hence prevent early greying.

    Added shine to your hair

Regular use of onion oil adds a natural shine to your hair.

    No more split ends

My hair used to have severe split ends which make them look unhealthy and poorly maintained. The goodness of onion oil helps us in managing this.

    Products with infused onion oil

With the increasing awareness about the goodness of onion oil. there are various hair care products with infused onion oil. However, more often than not, they will be laden with chemicals and lack the goodness of onion oil. Since I have ventured into the wellness lifestyle, I have been a supporter of all Vegan products. Hence, while opting for a skincare or haircare product, I would prefer plant-derived products. My search for authentic plant-derived products ended in Earth Raga, an ayurvedic skincare brand that is committed to nature.

Their products are ethically sourced and their commitment to the planet and ecosystem is commendable. Their Onion Hair cleansing shampoo and Onion Hair conditioner are goodness compressed into a bottle. In addition to onion oil, the shampoo has plant keratin that prevents frizz, rosemary oil, almond oil, and ginger extract. In the conditioner, aloe vera extract, plant keratin, and pea protein are an addition to onion oil.

    Results

I have very thin and dry hair. It has been a month since I started using the shampoo and conditioner by Earth Raga with infused onion oil. My hair has started looking considerably healthy and bouncy. It has gained its natural shine back. There are no more split ends and dryness. I also bought Ubtan Turmeric Sunscreen SPF 50 matte. The cream is lightweight and gets absorbed into the skin. My face started having less tan since I started using this sunscreen. The USP of the sunscreen is that it doesn’t leave any stickiness.

    Sunscreen

Overall what I have noticed about the Earth Raga products is that they are committed to nurturing the planet as well as the customers. Try the products by Earth Raga which contain infused onion oil and let us know the results. Let your hair have the goodness of onion oil and let the strands grow relentlessly. Flaunt your tresses because you earned it this time.

  • How are the toilets India brought about, the best toilet styles?

How are the toilets India brought about, the best toilet styles?

For the longest time, I have counted those who use Indian toilets as obsolete folks who don’t get updated. Who would want to squat on tacky spaces and wash the bum the old-fashioned way when we can simply sit and spray, you know what I mean? But more often than not, my megalomaniac updated lifestyle took a backseat and I learned some things are better done the old-fashioned way like defecation aka pooping. And with shock, I realized that of the toilet styles, the kind of toilets India brought forward is the best for your gut health as well as overall wellness. Let’s see how.

Toilets India developed are the best

Toilets India introduced in the market

The introduction of civilized defecation dates back to the Harappan times. During the Vedic period, clearing the excreta was reserved as a job for a separate section of society. which you all might have learned from history textbooks. But in those days the Indian toilets that we see today or its analog were used by the kings and the elite. Through centuries, the system was taken over by the other sections but on all occasions, defecation by squatting was the way to flush out the waste in the body.

Slowly the toilets termed Indian toilets were introduced into the market and the rest is history. But over the years we saw the prevalence of European toilets was hiking and the use of the toilets India was credited for ceased to exist, well almost. As a result, our overall gut health is. for which India was known for, went downhill. While European toilets are convenient, especially for the older generations and the ones with leg issues, the advantages of Indian toilets outrun everything. So if you ask me which toilet seat is the best, Indian or Western? My answer would invariably be the former.

    Advantages of Indian Toilet Style

Had this been my grandmother telling me, I would have snubbed it as an outlook of an old, outdated lady. But yes it has been scientifically proven that Indian toilets are better. Let’s see why

    Indian Toilets

    1. Personal hygiene

Without a doubt, my first point in preferring the Indian toilet style would be personal hygiene especially while using public toilets. Instead of splurging disinfectant spray and sprawling tissues over the toilet seats, we can squat and get it done. No more worries about getting an infection from the toilet.

    2. Better Digestion

Since you are defecating in a squatting position, your puborectalis muscles that help in pushing the still out are compressed. This way there is pressure to push the stool completely out without any reminiscence and that too in no time. The largely improves your bowel health.

    3. Lesser use of water

The European toilets waste liters of water while flushing wherein Indian toilets save water and tissues for that matter. So you are saving the environment while choosing to squat.

    4. Reduces colon cancer

    Toilets India

The common cause of colon cancer is improper defecation. As mentioned above the squatting position makes sure that the excreta is removed totally, this reduced the chance of colon cancer.

    5. Good pregnant women

It is believed that using Indian toilets regularly helps women considerably if they are going for a natural delivery. Also, it doesn’t put any pressure on the uterus

    Toilets India

    6. Your daily squats

Using Indian toilets contributes to your share of squats and gives a good stretch and helps in strengthening your hamstrings.

Let us embrace the toilets India has been using back again and embrace our health. For more health and wellness posts and updates, keep following Holistic wellness with RJ and Rakhi Jayashankar.

  • My weightloss Journey – Mistakes That I made

My weightloss Journey – Mistakes That I made

You always look the same. How do you maintain your weight? How did you lose all the baby fat? The question never ended. But I never felt like putting my weightloss journey out there yet. But now with the diet plan program in place, I feel it’s the best time to share this.

    My weightloss journey

    My Weightloss Journey

It was not easy as I was a lactating mother. But all the mass was making it tough for me to push through. It was not just about how I looked but it was about the lack of freedom.

Did I say that I was diagnosed with ADHD last month? Well, yes. Not only my kids and husband, I too have ADHD and always had, which went unnoticed.
So with all the energy around I could not bear the fact that I have to take one step at a time while climbing the stairs. I’m used to running up. The movement became a harrowing experience with the extra 20 kg I had to carry around.
From all the freedom of grabbing whatever comes to my hand, I had to check which one fits me. Who can wait so much? I just wanted to feel light and free.

So I wanted to lose weight for all such silly reasons. I knew what to do. I was not a biotechnology postgraduate for nothing. ( Shhh.. forget the fact that I did the degree out of family pressure and never liked it)

With a controlled diet and mild exercise, my weightloss journey took off and my body slowly started reacting. And then it took pace. At one point I could not stop my body weight from going down and had to literally work up the ladder to make me look healthy and not a sick sleep-deprived being. The mistake in the weightloss journey I did was to lose too much in too little time as I got super excited and overdid everything.

With Vit D deficiency, Vit C deficiency, and Vit B complex issues, ( all these were undiagnosed at that time) my body was weak. On one hand, I was happy to see the new old me. On the other, I was grappling with my deteriorating health.

Dont diet to lose weight, diet to gain health and know the difference

    Mental Health that never improved

Feeling ecstatic about others’ compliments was one thing and feeling energetic was another. I was constantly fatigued and being a new born mother, the lack of sleep, rest, and happiness for that matter weighed down on me. I was going through PTSD and PPD. My son was born in the 32nd week with congenital pneumonia. When the doctor showed him to me he looked like lord Krishna, I thought. Little did I know that he was blue due to low saturation. On the third day of birth, he collapsed and was shifted to the ventilator. 8 days went by and all that I could hold on to was hope. On the eighth day, he was out of ventilator and it took another 35 days to get him back home. This trauma hit me hard passively and I did not realize it. Having a history of postpartum aggression, which again went undiagnosed, this was the last nail in the coffin. The extremely unscientific diet along with this mental health trauma was enough to push me into a pit. And the irony is that this blinder was done by a biotechnologist.

    Phew!!

    What next

Like many others in excitement to lose all the fat I overdid it and realized it quite late. And then started my Holistic Wellness Journey. I went ahead learning one after the other. Mindfulness coach, Yoga trainer, Meditation teacher, Reiki Master, Pranic Healer, Chakra Healer, Ayuvedic Guru, Intermittent Fasting Coach, Food and nutrition health coach, it went on and on.

My step into the Ayurvedic lifestyle is what changed it all for me. Instead of counting my calories, I started counting my nutrients. Before all, I started knowing my body. It was before we formulated the dosha quiz. Now you can just visit our website and check the dosha and get the remedies in your mail. But when I started off there was no real pointer that I could rely on. It was a tedious task but it helped all the more. I had Vata pitta Prakriti and hence the ailments. I made a few lifestyle changes accordingly. Further, I started my mindfulness trip along with meditation and Yoga. But nothing unlocked the unrelenting power inside till I started doing Pranic Healing and later Reiki. This was the turning point in my life.

Last year Twinkl Education Publisher featured me in their International Yoga Day Blog, I retrospected my past few years. This walk down memory lane is what urged me to write about it.

    Encounter with Fibromyalgia

While I was at it, I learned that I had fibromyalgia. When one doctor said that fibromyalgia is a myth, another said that it is a reality. Further, my learning took a turn to learn more about Fibromyalgia. Alas! While I was dealing with and healing my kids were diagnosed with ADHD. It was a shock and reprieve. Shock because I realized they have learning issues and reprieve because now I know how to deal with them. That’s when I did the Parenting with EFT tapping course and certification in ADHD management. This was a blessing and I decided to share it with my loved ones.

Hereafter Holistic Wellness With RJ is taking a beautiful turn with curated programs for each one of you. Finally, now it’s time to slow down and practice what I learned.

we started Holistic Wellness with RJ.

21 days wellness, Diet plans, Workout guidance, Yoga Training,6 months wellness program, One-on-one coaching sessions

This is where I wanted to be. And this is what it was meant to be. This is where my weightloss journey took me. Was it just about the weightloss? No there was more to it. It was an overall development and I realized weightloss is not just about cutting down the calories and losing fat. More about this in another post. Till then keep visiting us on Instagram. @holisticwellnesswithrj and @rakhijayashankar

  • Is Fibromyalgia Real? Symptoms Of fibromyalgia conditions can be confusing…

Is Fibromyalgia Real? Symptoms Of fibromyalgia conditions can be confusing…

“Are you afraid of being sick?”, the doctor asked. I know I am not the first one to be judged for consulting a doctor to cure “body ache”. When the doctors themselves don’t shy away from snubbing and judging the women who are suffering from fibromyalgia, just because they don’t believe in the condition, what would poor patients do? Trust me he is one of the leading neurologists in Kochi. So I was left wondering “Is fibromyalgia real?”. For more than a year I lived in denial because the doctor said so. As the days went by, my pain worsened and I was unable to pinpoint the source of pain as it kept on radiating throughout the body. That’s when my time overlapped with my Holistic Wellness journey. My Yoga, meditation, EFT tapping, reflexology, and all practices worked, and slowly the pain subsided, including severe ENT problems too.

    Is fibromyalgia real?

    Is fibromyalgia real?

Fibromyalgia is an invisible symptom that doesn’t have symptoms that are evidently visible to others. This is where the real struggle of convincing the healthcare providers, coworkers, and even friends and family comes into the picture. In addition to the pain, the patients would also have sleep issues, mood swings, and memory problems. These are often conveniently ignored by the people around as a normal daily struggle.

The fact that more than half of the healthcare providers including neurologists is a fact that needs to be addressed on a larger scale because the person who is in pain feels neglected. This in turn could affect their emotions and have a psychological impact on them. Eventually, they leave it to themselves as they become exhausted from the travail.

    • Is fibromyalgia real?
    • Is fibromyalgia real? why is it confusing
    • Is fibromyalgia real? confusing symptoms
    • overlapping symptoms
    • No specific treatment Is fibromyalgia real?
    • Care yourself

Why the symptoms can be confusing?

Fibromyalgia has a cluster of symptoms that could overlap with other conditions like arthritis. Hence there is no definitive treatment for the condition. Since the symptoms vary, the cure is more or less an experiment. Nonetheless, the World Health Organisation has already recognized it as a disease and hence the doctors who deny hardly make any sense. They should rather update their medical knowledge up to date to consider fibromyalgia real.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to the condition by my ENT specialist. Lest I would have left behind wondering myself that I was being lazy. Further, I went ahead and started my therapy by being my therapist. The first step was to stop asking and start acting by making fibromyalgia real in my psyche. Many of you might have been sailing in the same boat and would be surprised to know that ‘hey, there is someone like me. But don’t worry we all are here for you. • Best Detox Drinks To Clear Skin, Weight Loss, and better health.

Best Detox Drinks To Clear Skin, Weight Loss, and better health.

While we were discussing the best morning routine, we discussed the importance of a morning detox drink. A detox drink is not something that would magically help you in reducing your body weight. It is a cleansing method to flush out the impurities and hence the name. Let’s see the advantages of drinking detox drinks and the best detox drinks to clear skin, weight loss, and better health.

    Advantages of detox drinks:

    • Removal of toxins
    • Improves the skin

    • More energy
    • Better gut health

    Best detox drinks

The following are a few options of the best detox drinks to clear skin, weight loss, and better health curated for you.

    1. Haldi ginger tea

The concoction of black tea with turmeric and ginger is one of the most effective drinks. It helps in improving your immunity and reducing inflammation. This cleanses your gut thereby improving your health.

    2. Giloy water

Giloy is considered the best medicine for different ailments. This ayurvedic herb could be used in powder form or juice. Another option is to boil water with Giloy juice. Try this for fifteen days and see the difference.

    3. Warm water with lemon and honey

This is one of the most effective and commonly used detox drinks to clear skin. The nutritional benefits of honey and Vit C content of lemon make it an ideal detox drink. There is a myth that consuming this will aid in weight loss. Merely consuming this will not help you lose weight. Top it with a healthy diet and exercise for the results.

    4. Cumin water

Boil water with raw or roasted cumin. This is the best detox for those who are susceptible to acidity. Jeera water/cumin water is effective not only as a morning detox but as a drink throughout the day instead of plain water

    5. Green tea

This is one of the best detox drinks that are commonly consumed. The benefits of green tea could account for yet another blog post.

    9. Apple Cider Vinegar

The acetic acid present in apple cider vinegar helps in increasing the metabolism thus enabling weightloss. In addition the detox properties of ACV aid in maintaining better health.

    10. Chia seeds cinnamon water

This is my latest obsession. Put a stick of cinnamon in boiling water. Turn off the heat and put some chia seeds. Squeeze a lemon over it and drink it before going to bed or as a wake-up drink. This is a magical concoction. You can also soak chia seeds in plain water overnight and drink it in the morning. This is particularly helpful if you are following an intermittent fasting routine,

    Bonus drink

Apart from these magical drinks, there is one more bonus drink. Aloe vera juice. Take 30ml of concentrated aloe vera juice and mix it with 250 ml of water. Drink this on empty stomach. This is a marvelous health detox drink.

Apart from these, we can also opt for drinking stomach full of plain water. This is the easiest and one of the best detox drinks to clear skin, weight loss, and health. Nonetheless don’t wait for the magic to happen by simply drinking this. You have to follow a proper diet and workout routine alongside.

  • Nutritious Foods With Long Shelf Life To Store During Home Quarantine

We are facing lockdown every other day. With unexpected restrictions, it is tough to get hold of food items during emergency situations. It is advisable to store less perishable food items so that you could use them for a long while. Hence we are sharing the list of nutritious foods with a long shelf life to store during home quarantine as well as a few delicious, easy, and healthy recipes.

    Food to store during quarantine:

A self-imposed home quarantine mostly gives you limited options for storing food as we need to have foods that have a longer shelf life. We should religiously include seasonal vegetables and fruits in our diet.

According to the statistics by WHO, consuming 400g of fruits and vegetables is imperative.

While we vouch for all fruits and vegetables, certain specific nutritious foods with long shelf life should be particularly included in our diet or stored. We recommend these foods taking into account the ease of storage, availability, and shelf life along with nutritional value and immunity-boosting power.

    Citrus fruits

Nutritious foods with long shelf life

The awareness about the importance of Vitamin C in our diet is remarkably high in the current scenario. Citrus fruits as we all know are the richest source of Vitamin C. Orange, lemon, grapefruit, clementines etc must be regular in our diet plan.

    Root Vegetables

Nutritious foods with long shelf life - Carrots

Vegetables like potatoes, carrots, turnips, etc are the best source of sodium, potassium, Vitamin C, dietary fibers, etc. They are nutritious foods with long shelf life, which makes them the best food for pandemic times as they can be stored for a long while. Starchy roots like potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc can be steamed or boiled, preferably with their skin on for more dietary intake.

    Cruciferous vegetables

Nutritious foods with long shelf life - Cabbage

Cruciferous vegetables cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and other green leafy vegetables. They are sources of Vitamin A, C, K, minerals like folate, and also phytonutrients which have anti-inflammatory properties.

    Frozen Fruits and vegetables

Frozen fruits and vegetables are the best nutrient source when you are under home quarantine or lockdown. These are inexpensive, you can store them for a longer period, and also has high dietary content.

In comparison to fresh and frozen vegetables, canned vegetables are less preferred. But when you have to save them for a longer period they become the best choice. Vegetables like mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, green peas, etc are available in canned form.

    Dry fruits and nuts

Nutritious foods with long shelf life - Dry fruits and nuts

The first point to check while opting for dry fruits and nuts is that they must be unsalted and sugarless. They are rich sources of unsaturated fats. Loaded with Vitamin E, B6, Omega3 fatty acids, and many more nutrients. They can be your snack to munch on, instead of packed and processed food.

    Pulses

Chickpeas, lentils, beans, etc are rich sources of protein, minerals, and vitamins. They can be stored without being perished and hence storing them in your pantry can be the best step of precaution you can take. You can easily prepare a spicy sprouts sandwich for a healthy and tasty meal especially after morning routine work out.

    Whole grains

Nutritious foods with long shelf life - Grains

Rice, wheat, quinoa, etc are the best source of nutrients. The main advantage is that you can store them for a longer period and are easy to cook.

Whole grain bread is an easily available source of grains and it can be frozen in slices.

    Milk and eggs

Food to store during home quarantine

They are inexpensive protein sources. Milk products like unsweetened yogurt, curd, etc can also be a good source of nutrients. Relatively lower shelf life makes it less preferable for storing. For longer shelf life, you can use milk powders.

    Indian Spices and herbs

Food to store during home quarantine 02

Yes! Spices have been counted as unhealthy over the years but if late the awareness has started to build around the goodness of spices. Turmeric, cloves, black pepper, cumin seeds along with ginger and garlic amalgamates the goodness of healthy food with taste and also adds to the immunity.

Meal Ideas – Food to eat during pandemic:

Now that you know what to store for a long period, let us see a few easy recipes that you can rely on, while on home quarantine. Quite often moms who are COVID +ve end cooking food for the rest of the family. With extreme pain and with an uncomfortable body and mind, we cannot assort to a detailed cooking spree. Hence, TCT shares some easy-to-cook recipes with non-perishable food items. These are the food items that can be cooked in bulk and stored as well. Thus you can have a go-to food, that you can cook instantly while quarantined.

    Dal varieties

Pressure cook the dal (chickpeas, green gram, green gram beans, Bengal gram, etc)  in bulk and keep it in the freezer. Crush ginger, garlic, onion, and tomatoes together, saute the mixture in oil, add chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and gram masala. Saute it dry and refrigerate. This is your go-to dal mix.

While cooking thaw the pulse. Take a portion of the sauteed mix, add water and boil it, add the thawed pulses.

Whole grain pasta with easy sauce

Mix, whole wheat flour, milk, and a tiny pinch of salt. Boil it in simmer mode till it tightens into a porridge, turn it off. Add cheese and boiled whole grain pasta. This can be converted into red sauce pasta by using tomato puree, ketchup, and a pinch of salt with red chili powder if needed. You can boil pasta and keep it in the freezer. Thaw it before use.

    Lemon Rice and Curd Rice

Temper mustard seeds in oil, add red chilly, curry leaves, urad dal, chana dal(optional), ginger (chopped). Further, add curd/lemon for curd rice and lemon rice respectively. Add boiled rice and saute. Do you know that curd rice and lemon rice were packed by our grandmothers for their long trips in an era where hotels and restaurants were not available at every nook and corner? They stay fresh for 2-3 days even without refrigeration.

    Pizza

    Yes! Pizza is one of the easy go-to nutritious foods with long shelf life that you can cook during a pandemic. Here is how;

Base: Mix a teaspoon of yeast and sugar with half a cup of water. Once it is frothy add 2 ½ cup flour, a little salt, and 1 ½ tablespoon oil and make the dough. Keep it at room temperature for 5-6 hours. Divide it into balls, spread it in the shape of a pizza base, and keep it in a freezer.

Sauce: Add pureed tomato to saute ginger garlic, cover it and cook properly. Once it is thick, add Italian herbs. After cooling, transfer it to a jar and refrigerate. You might have already stored the vegetable with a longer shelf life as well as the canned veggies.

On the day you decide to bake the pizza, thaw the base and sauce, layer them and add veggies and mozzarella cheese. Isn’t that simple? Use whole wheat flour instead of refined flour and use less yeast and keep it rising for a longer time. you have your easy, healthy, go-to pizza.

    Smoothies, buttermilk and lassi

Richa strongly suggests keeping the body hydrated. “Drink enough water, vegetable juice, coconut water, and barley water.”

Put the seasonal, long-lasting fruit that you have stored in a blender. Add milk and honey. Blend it well to get a thick paste. If you are using citrus fruit, skip the milk part and add black salt and a pinch of cumin powder. Another option is beating curd with honey/a little sugar to make a sweet lass

    Red meat

Who recommends the use of less than 30% of the total energy intake of which only less than 10% should be saturated. Hence avoid red meat which is rich in unsaturated fat. If you are using red meat, trim excess fat. This applies to poultry as well. Try to use skinless poultry.

  • What is the real awareness of breastfeeding that we should have?

Breast feeding awareness week is going on. Everyone is talking about the importance of breastfeeding and also breastfeeding in public. It is commendable that contrary to the past aversion in many women regarding breastfeeding connected to their own body and health, people are indeed showing interest in the topic. So what is the awareness that we need to spread

    Exclusive breastfeeding

    1. For the first 6 months, the child should be fed exclusively on breastmilk.

    2. The more you breastfeed, the more you lose weight

    3. The more you breastfeed the more immune your child becomes.

    4. You shouldn’t be ashamed of feeding in public.

Well n good. All these points are the best advice to be given to a mother.

But what if a mother is not in a position to exclusively breastfeed the child?

The pressure of the society, the judgements, the frustration of feeling inadequate and what not.

While it is true that breastmilk is the best medicine for the child, we should not judge a mother who is not exclusively breastfeeding her child

She wouldn’t be lactating much to quench the child’s thirst and hunger. The child’s sucking reflex would be week. The child could be in an NICU. The child could have breastmilk intolerance. She might have to have take medications which could be dangerous to child. She could be a working mother who had to rejoin early for work. Worst of all, the mother and child could be having some serious disease which could make breastfeeding all the more dangerous for both.

There could be many genuine reasons for not exclusively breastfeeding the child or weaning early.

Why would the society decide what she should do with her child? Why is it imperative to tab her as a beauty conscious, figure conscious bimbo just because she is not exclusively breast feeding the child/weans early? For some people it is a cruel ecstasy to state how long did they breast feed their child, to a mother who weaned early.

WHAT SHOULD THE MOTHER ACTUALLY DO?

If you are a healthy woman, with ample breastmilk, with a healthy baby whose sucking reflexes are well developed, and also a stay at home mother breastfeed your child exclusively for 6 months.

If you are not any or all of these. Do what’s best for your child and yourself because only a healthy mother can bring up a healthy baby.

    DON’T FEEL GULTY.

DON’T LEND YOUR EARS TO JUDGEMENTAL PEOPLE.

DON’T THINK OF YOURSELF AS ANY LESS THAN OTHER MOTHERS.

    Breastfeeding in public

If you feel ashamed of breastfeeding in public, there is nothing wrong with you. That’s also your personal choice but yeah, there are indeed options for the same.

We have feeding bibs available these days. If that’s expensive for you, get a ‘PONCHO TOP’. It’s available cheap in the market. Put if over your head and feed your child.

  • Nature Sure Jonk Shampoo – Review

If I have to be frank, I mush say that I am hearing about Jonk Shampoo for the first time. A shampoo made from leech is something unique and unheard of.

    Company Claim

The claim of the comoany is that the shampoo removes dandruff, restores shine and prevents hair fall. The ingredients are amla, aloe vera, shikakai, neem etc which are indeed helpful for nourishing the hair. It is paraben and sulphate free.

    Packaging

The bottle with the pump makes it easy to use. Only very little quantity is pumped out. The bottle is travel friendly as well.

    Texture and fragrance

The shampoo has thick consistency. It lathers well despite sulphate free.

    Effect

The product indeed adds shine to the hair. I did not use any conditioner. Nonetheless the shine was retained and the hair didn’t look dry or frizzy. It is commendable that the shine is retained even without conditioner or serum. I continously used it without any additional products but my hair has looking pretty maintained even with the third day hair.

Hairfall was also reduced considerably. Dandruff was also reduced but did not get cured completely. If used continously on a thrice a week basis, dandruff could be kept in check.

Hair Shine 100/100, Hairfall control 100/100 Dandruff control 80/100

Overall I am satisfied with the product. I am in fact surprised with how the shine was retained.

  • EVERTEEN TOILET SANITIZER- TRAVEL BUDDY OF EVERY WOMAN

Does the sight of a toilet seat repulse you? What about sitting on a public toilet where god knows how many have sat? This is every woman’s touble ever. Long gone are the days when we stuff the seats with tissue or go in search of Indian Toilets. During the COVID-19 sanitizer is a household name. Toiler seat sanitizer will also be one soon.

Everteen Instant Toilet Seat Sanitizer Spray

My association with everteen started with their Menstrual Cup. Since then this brand has been my ultimate name for female intimate hygeine. Hence, when I was looking for a toilet seat sanitizer, I didn’t have to think twice.

    Packaging

It is packed in a handy can. 90ml of the product is available for Rs.185, which is quite priceworthy. The plastic cap attached makes sure there are no spillage but it could have been a little tighter. Nonetheless the spray wouldn’t go off just like that. Hence it is negligible.

    Compactness

It is travel friendly and fits into my smallest vanity bag.

    Ease of usage.

As shown in the picture, it is easy to use. The spray is quite forceful and hence visually also we can see how it is applied on to the toilet seat.

    Fragrance

The floral fragrance will spare you from the odour which used to be there in many public toilets.

Directions for use ( As given on the can)

Shake everteen Toilet Seat Sanitizer spray can. Hold it upright & spray affected area at elbow-length distance (10 inches). Wait for about 5 seconds for sanitizing before using toilet seat. Avoid contact with skin.

Overall I am completely satisfied with the product.

  • The magic of Yoga-1 Entry-4 #HolisticWorkout

As you all know, I have always been tad bit obsessed about the benefits of Yoga. I myself have had the benefits when in helped to fight Fibromyalgia and ENT issues. But Yoga cannot be explained in a single post and hence we will have more posts of Yoga.

Today we have the illustaration of three Yogasanas. Sarvangasana, Halasana and Matsyasana.

    Benefits

Sarvangasana: Sarvangasana is also called shouklder stand pose. The pose has the basic benefits that many other workoud regimes provide. It helps in reducing stress, muscle strengthening. It tightens the leg and buttock muscles there by toning them. It is also beneficial to your shoulder and neck. Apart from these the pose has several endocronological benefits. Thyroid gland and prostrate glands are regulated with this Yogasana. If you are an insomniac, doing this pose will help you get your peaceful sleep. The digestive disorders can be cured to a great extend with this pose. Lastly, and most importantly, it is extremely helpful during menopause.

Halasana: Halasana is also called the plough pose. It is the extension of Sarvangasana and hence benefits would also be the extension of Sarvangasana like the effect on shouders and neck, menopause, stress and insomnia. But the extensive benefits are incredible. It makes you alert because of its effect in your sympathetic nervous system. Sympathetic nervous system helps you deal with dangerous situations by fight or flight decisions. The same is attained by the effect on adrenal gland that secret adrenaline. It is a detox mechanism for your excretory and disgestive systems. Hypertension is also alleviated with this pose. It also helps in improving your concentration and enhances memory power.

Matsyasana: Matsyasana is also called the fish pose. Trust me, this is one of the Yoga poses that has been most beneficial for my ENT issues and allergy but the scientific benefits are implausible. It is the ultimate ‘Destroyer of all Diseases’. Matsyasana is best followed by Sarvangasana and Halasana. Scientifically as well, the pose is believed to cure respiratory ailments, which explains how my allergies and resultant ENT issues were cured. It is best to reduce your anxiety. I have a personal experience when it helped my mother fight her hyperanxiety. It cures constipation. It has many endocrinological benefits by regulating adrenal, parathyroid, pineal and pituitary glands. It also improves posture and flexibility.
